One Website for All APS Institutions: The Thinking Behind It
For ninety years, Acharya Patashala has grown into a group of institutions — a pre-school, schools, pre-university and degree colleges, and professional colleges in commerce, arts, science, polytechnic and engineering. What began in 1935 with a single idea — that education should reach every child, however modest their means — is today a campus of many parts, all working towards the same purpose.
Until now, that shared purpose was hard to see online. Each institution had grown its own separate website over the years, built by different people at different times. They looked different from one another, carried different logos and styles, and were often difficult to find or out of date. A parent looking for the Pre-University College and a partner looking for the Engineering College would land on two sites that felt like they belonged to two different organisations.
So we have brought them together. From now on, all of Acharya Patashala’s institutions live under one website — apset.co.in — and one shared identity.
Why one website instead of many
Because our institutions belong together. They share a founder, a history, a set of values and a name. The website should reflect that. When everything sits under a single “Acharya Patashala Educational Institutions” identity, a visitor immediately understands that the Public School, the Commerce College and the Engineering College are all part of the same trusted ninety-year-old institution — not unrelated names that happen to sound alike.
Because it is easier for everyone who matters. Parents, students, alumni, partners and accreditation bodies no longer have to hunt across scattered pages. There is one place to start, and every institution has its own clearly labelled space within it. Admissions information, news, contact details and each college’s own pages are all reachable from a single, familiar home.
Because a consistent identity builds trust. As we take on serious partnerships — such as our collaboration with IBM across the institutions — the website is often the first impression an organisation forms of us. A single, well-kept, consistent presence speaks to the quality and seriousness of the institution far better than a set of mismatched pages ever could.
Because it can be kept current. The new site is managed by APS itself. Staff can update text, photographs and announcements directly, so information stays accurate and fresh instead of ageing quietly on a page nobody can easily change.
How everything is labelled
Think of it as one house with many rooms. The Acharya Patashala name and identity are shared across the whole site, and within it each institution keeps its own clearly marked space:
- Engineering College
- Polytechnic
- Pre-University College
- Degree College
- Commerce College
- Arts & Science College
- Evening College
- Public School
- Kidzee
Every institution is presented in the same consistent style, under the same banner, so the connection between them is clear — while each still has room to tell its own story. Our news and updates work the same way: every post is tagged with the institution it belongs to, so you can read everything across all institutions or filter to just the one you care about.
One identity, online too
The same thinking extends to how we communicate. Staff across our institutions are moving to professional email addresses on our own domain, so a message from Acharya Patashala looks and feels like it comes from Acharya Patashala — consistent, credible and clearly ours.
This is a small change on the surface and a meaningful one underneath: one website and one identity that reflect how Acharya Patashala has always worked — as a single institution, serving across every stage of education.
