APS College of Engineering: Industry Partnerships, New Labs and Admissions Update
APS College of Engineering, Somanahalli, has reported a series of developments over the past term spanning industry collaboration, infrastructure, placements and admissions. A summary follows.
Industry collaboration
Three technology companies have begun working with the college:
- IBM has started training programmes for students under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, giving students exposure to current industry practice.
- Dell has agreed to set up a computer laboratory at the college, an investment of ₹20 lakh.
- Capgemini has committed to donating 15 computers towards the college’s computing infrastructure.
Computing infrastructure
Alongside the Dell laboratory, the college is establishing a new computer laboratory equipped with 60 systems, expanding the facilities available to students for coursework and project work.
Placements
A placement drive for around 300 students and alumni is being held in collaboration with participating companies. The college also reported an overall improvement in academic results across programmes.
Admissions
For the current intake, 55 seats under the management quota have been filled. Admissions against the remaining CET (Common Entrance Test) quota seats are in progress.
Faculty and student services
The college’s faculty strength is at its highest to date. Shuttle bus services have also been introduced from Harohalli and Silk Centre to ease travel for students and staff.
New website
The new APS Institutions website is scheduled to launch on 29 July 2026, part of a wider effort to modernise the trust’s digital presence.

S., President, APS Education Trust, credited the progress to the combined efforts of the trustees, faculty, staff, students, alumni and industry partners, and reaffirmed the institution’s focus on quality education, industry collaboration and expanding opportunities for students.
